ANAHEIM, CA — Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 176 pounds, Martise Maddox, senior defensive back at Servite High School, is solidifying his status as one of California’s premier football prospects in the Class of 2025. His performance this summer at the prestigious Ohio State University football camp and 7-on-7 showcase left little doubt about his rising star power.
With a rare blend of length, agility, and football instincts—refined through his background in both basketball and wide receiver play—Maddox proved nearly impenetrable on defense. Across eight games of competition, he surrendered only a few receptions and recorded multiple interceptions, earning praise from fellow athletes, coaches, and scouts.
“Martise controlled his own island out there,” one scout said. “His range and timing are elite, and his height makes him a nightmare in contested catch situations.”
Major programs have taken notice. Maddox is fielding interest and scholarship offers from schools such as UCLA, USC, Texas, Sacramento State, and Air Force, with more likely on the way. His ability to match up with tall receivers, attack downhill in run support, and read the game with advanced football IQ makes him a natural fit for modern college football defenses.
Unlike some top high school prospects who rely on highlight plays, Maddox prides himself on discipline and consistency. When asked what he loves most about the game, his answer was simple: “Winning and shutting down wide receivers.” That quiet focus is a trademark of his playing style—and one reason recruiters are paying close attention.
As Maddox enters his senior year at Servite High, expectations are soaring. With his “island” mentality and ever-expanding skill set, he’s positioned to lead his team and further elevate his recruiting profile throughout the 2025 season.
