Peachtree High School’s football program has long been known for developing elite defensive talent, and one of the next big names to watch is rising sophomore Declan Delaporte, a 5’10”, 170-pound free safety from the class of 2028. With his sophomore season on the horizon, Delaporte is already turning heads with his athleticism, football IQ, and versatility.
Delaporte made a strong impression at the recent Southern Exposure Camp, where he showcased his playmaking ability on both sides of the ball, working at defensive back and wide receiver. His quick hips, fluid movement, and natural ball-tracking skills stood out in drills and live competition, earning praise from coaches and evaluators alike.
“Declan plays with a chip on his shoulder,” one scout noted. “He has the range and instincts you look for in a free safety, but what really sets him apart is how comfortable he looks at wide receiver too. He’s just a natural athlete.”
Expected to play a key role in a strong returning Peachtree defense, Delaporte brings not only athleticism but a competitive edge and high football IQ. As he continues to develop physically and gain more experience, coaches believe he has the potential to be one of the cornerstones of the program over the next three years.
With his name beginning to circulate in recruiting circles and his confidence building after standout camp performances, Declan Delaporte is a name Georgia high school football fans will want to remember. The 2025 season could be his breakout year—and the Peachtree defense is counting on it.
