COLUMBUS, OH — Calvert Hall College High School’s Jordan Hicks is quickly emerging as one of the most intriguing defensive prospects in the Class of 2028. Standing at 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds, the Baltimore native delivered a standout performance last weekend at Ohio State, making waves at both the individual football camp and the competitive 7-on-7 tournament.
Hicks, who lined up at cornerback throughout the weekend, drew praise for his athletic range, smooth footwork, and advanced ball skills. His ability to anticipate throws and disrupt routes proved difficult for quarterbacks and receivers alike. According to camp observers, Hicks collected multiple interceptions while routinely locking down some of the top wideouts in attendance.
Despite not yet holding any scholarship offers, the rising sophomore has set his sights on Power Five programs. With his blend of size, skill, and upside, recruiters say it’s only a matter of time before the attention turns his way.
Scouts noted Hicks’ vertical explosiveness—often an indicator of elite defensive back potential. Players at his position frequently clear 40-inch verticals, and Hicks showcased similar leaping ability while high-pointing balls and smothering deep routes.
At Calvert Hall, the young defensive back continues to refine his craft, pairing raw talent with a cerebral approach to coverage and positioning. Coaches believe Hicks is primed for a breakout season this fall, setting the stage for what could become a promising college career.
As recruiting buzz builds around his Ohio State performance, Jordan Hicks is quickly becoming a name to watch in the high school football circuit. For college programs in search of game-changing talent in the secondary, the search may lead straight to Baltimore.
